Set 7 quarts of water on the fire, and when it boyleth, put therein four ounces of Sarsaparilla, bruised and let it boyl 2 hours very softly, close stopped or covered, then put in 4 ounces of Sene, 3 ounces of Liquorish bruised, of Staecados, Hermodactyl, Epithymum, and of

Cammomil flowers, of every one half an ounce, and so boyl all these two hours very softly, then strain it, and keep it in a close vessel close stopped, when it is cold, then boyl again all the aforesaid ingredi∣ents in 7 quarts of water, 4 hours, with a soft fire close covered, then strain it, and keep it as the other by it self, and take of the first a good draught one hour before you rise in the morning, and a draught at the beginning of din∣ner, and another at supper, and go∣ing to bed, and at all other times, drink of the latter when you list, and eat no meat but dry roasted Mutton, Capon, Rabbet, without salt, and not basted, but to your breakfast, a poached Egg, no bread but Bisket, or dried crust, and at night Raisins of the Sun, and Bisket bread, drink no other drink but this.
