Excōmunicatio est poena inflicta a iure, vel ab hoīe, & nō solū declaratio poenae, nā clare b. Pau∣lus indicat Corinthiū non traditum diabolo, sed tradendū. Porro {quod} inquit quemlibet per peccatū seipsum excommunicare, verum est excommuni∣catione minori. sed illa licet priuet hominē gratia diuina, tamen adhuc manet peccator vnitus eccle¦siae, & mystico corpori ecclesiae coniunctus, tan{quam} membrum aridum. at in excōmunicatione maio∣ri p̄scinditur de corpore. Et illius geminae excom∣municationis meminit Origenes in illa homilia secunda super Iudicum. Praeterea si etiam per pec∣catum quis se tradet diabolo, tamen per sententiā ab homine vel a iure latam, diabolus adhuc maio¦rem in eo accipit potestatem, liquet de Iuda, quem primo inuasit diabolus, cum iam cogitasset trade¦re Christum. Intrauit autem Sathanas in Iudam (ait Lucas) & abijt, & louutus est cum princi∣pibus sacerdotum. &c. Et Ioan. ait: Cum diabo∣lus misisset in cor, vt traderet eum Iudas Symo∣nis Iscarioth. &c. tamen postea adhuc magis in∣trauit & possedit eum diabolus, eodem Ioann. di∣cente. Et cum intinxisset panem dedit Iudae Sy∣monis Scarioth, & post buccellam introiuit in e∣um Sathanas.

Excōmunicatio est medicinalis, verum si non contemnatur, nā ex fine dicitur medicinalis, quia ordinatur in hunc finem, {quod} ille resipiscat & poeni¦teat, ac satisfaciat ecclesiae: nullus autem amabit ex¦communicationē, nisi qui obstinatus magis vult tradi Sathanae, {quam} seruirae Christo. Et ab ecclesia vult haberi, sicut ethnicus & publicanus.
