M. Blundevile his exercises containing sixe treatises, the titles wherof are set down in the next printed page: which treatises are verie necessarie to be read and learned of all yoong gentlemen that haue not bene exercised in such disciplines, and yet are desirous to haue knowledge as well in cosmographie, astronomie, and geographie, as also in the arte of navigation ... To the furtherance of which arte of navigation, the said M. Blundevile speciallie wrote the said treatises and of meere good will doth dedicate the same to all the young gentlemen of this realme.

Another morereadie way to finde out the right ascention of any degree or portion of the Ecliptique by the Rete. The 13. Proposition.

LAy the Finitor eauen with the Axletrée, signifying here the right Horizon, so as the first point of Aries may méete with the East point of the saide Horizon, and lay the labell right vpon and alongest the E∣quinoctiall line, eyther towardes Cancer or to∣wardes Capricorne, according as the signe and degrée which you séeke is placed in the Ecliptique of the Mater, and marke there∣with what Meridian passeth through that degrée, and follow the same vntill it cutteth the Equinoctiall, and also the labell lying thereon, and by counting vpon the labell the number of degrées to that point in such order as is before taught, you shall haue your desire. As for example, if you séeke to knowe the right ascention of the tenth degrée of Leo, here hauing placed the Finitor as before is taught, séeke out in the Mater what Meridian passing through that degrée cutteth the said Equinoctiall, and in what point, and lay the labell to the said Equinoctial according as the signe requi∣reth, be it towards Cancer or Capricorne, and by counting the degrées vpon the labell as is before taught, that is from 90. pro∣céeding from the limbe backeward towardes the Centre you shall finde the right ascention of the 10. degrée of Leo to be 132. de∣grées, which differeth from the foresaid Table but 27′· a thing of small moment considering the narrowe spaces of the Meridians in the Mater.
