How to find the rising and setting of the sunne euery day in euery Latitude, and thereby the length of the day, and in what coast or part of the Horizon be riseth and setteth. The 10. Proposition.

BRing the Finitor to your Latitude, and stay∣ing it there, looke in the mater where the Pa∣rallel of the Sunne doth cut the Finitor, and the houre line which crosseth that point, will shewe the houre of his rising and setting, and the number of houres betwixt his rising and setting is the length of the day, and the number of the Azimuthes betwixt that point of the Finitor, and the Cen∣tre or first Azimuth will shew you in what part or coast of the Ho∣rizon he both riseth and setteth. As for example, séeking by this rule to knowe at what houre the sunne riseth the 19. of Iune 1592. he being then in the sixth degrée 39. minutes of Cancer, and his declination then 23. degrées 19′· I find that he riseth 12. minutes before foure, and goeth downe 12. minutes after 8. and thereby I find the length of the day counting from sunne rise to sunne set to

be 16. houres and 24. minutes, and that he riseth from the East towardes North 40. degrées, which according to the Mariners reckoning is Northeast and by East two quarters and somewhat more towards the North.
