And his ∴ coat was without seame, wrought from the top throughout.

The note.

This coate without seame is a figure of the vnitie of the church. Cy∣prian de vnit. &c. and Euthiius & other write that our ladie made it.

The answer.

It is easie for men to deuise figures, but when the are deuised without ground or warrant, they are but mens fansies. Who made that coat i no more materiall then who made his other garments.
