It is euident that Iohn was commanded afore to send that which he wrote to the churches: and it is also plaine, that he is commanded to write the same to the Angels, that is, to the pa∣stors,
and gouernors of the church. But that which thence you collect, that it is all one to sende to the church, and to the heads and gouernors thereof, is true but sometimes, and not alwaies. As when some faithfull are saluted by the apostle, and the church that is in their house, it is manifest that by the church, gouer∣nors are not ment. And againe, bicause you set head and gouer∣nor in the singular number, wherein we suppose that you haue a secret relation to the onely soueraigne of your church, therfore we are to admonish the Reader, that when by the church the gouernors thereof be vnderstood, there is neuer anie one gouer∣nor of the whole church ment.
