CHAP, XVI.

The women come to the graue. 9 Christ being risen agai ne, appeareth to Magdalene. 14 Also to the eleuen and 〈◊〉〈◊〉 proueth their vnbelief. 16 He committeth the preaching of the Gospel and the ministration of baptisme vnto thē.

ANd* whē the Sabbath day was past, Ma rie Magdalene, and Marie the mother of Iames, & Salome, boght swete ointments that they might come, and embaulme him.

Therefore early in the morning, the first day of the weeke, they came vnto the sepulchre, when the sunne was yet rising,

And they said one to another, Who shal rool vs away the stone from the doore of the se∣pulchre?

And whē they loked, they sawe that the stone was rolled away (for it was a very great one.)

*So they went into the sepulchre, and sawea a yong man sitting at the right side, clothed in a long white robe: and they were afrayed.

But he said vnto them, Be not afrayed: ye se∣ke Iesus of Nazaret, which hathe bene cruci fied: he is risen, he is not here: beholde the place, where they put him.

But go your way, and tel his disciples, andb Peter, that he wil go before you into Galile: there shal ye se him, *as he said vnto you.

And they went out quickely and fled from the sepulchre: for they trembled and were a mased: nether said they any thing to any man for they were afrayed.

¶And when Iesus was risen againe, in the morow (which was the first day of the weke) he appeared first to Marie Magdalene, *out of whome he had cast seuen deuils.

And she went and tolde them that had bene with him, which mourned and wept.

And when they heard that he was aliue, and had appeared to her, theyc beleued it not.

¶*After that, he appeared vnto two of them in another forme, as they walked and went into the countrey.

And they went and tolde it to the remnant, but they beleued them not.

¶*Finally, he appeared vnto the eleuen as theyd sate together, and reproued them of their vnbelief and hardnes of heart, because they beleued not them which had sene him, being risen vp againe.

And he said vnto thē, *go ye into all the world and preache the Gospel toe euerie creature.

He that shal beleue and be baptized, shal∣be saued: *but he that wil not beleue, shalbe damned.

And thesef tokens shal followe them that beleue, *In my Name thei shal cast out deuils and * shal speake withg newe tongues,

*And shal take away serpents, and if they shal drinke any deadlie thing, it shal not hurt them: *they shal lay their hands on the sicke and they shal recouer.

*So after the Lord had spoken vnto them, he was receiued into heauen, and sate at the right hand of God.

And they went forthe, and preached euerie where. And the * Lord wroght with them, and confirmed the worde withh signes that followed. Amen.
