The XLV. Chapter.

WHen ye deuyde the lōde by the lott, [ A] ye shal put asyde one parte for the LORDE, to be holy from other lon¦des: namely, xxv M meteroddes longe, and x M brode. This shalbe holy, as wyde as it is rounde aboute. Of this parte there shalbe longe vnto the Sanctuary v C meteroddes in all the foure corners, and l cubites wyde rounde aboute to the suburbes. And from this meausre, namely of xxv M metteroddes longe, and x M brode, thou shalt measure, wherin the Sanctuary and the holiest of all maye stonde.

The resydue of that holy grounde shall be the prestes, which do seruyce in the Sanc¦tuary of the LORDE, and go in before the LORDE to serue him, that they maye haue rowme to dwell in.

As for the Sanctuary, it shal stonde for it self: and to the Leuites the serue in that hou¦se, there shalbe geuen xx habitacions, of the xxv M lēgth & x M bredth: ye shal geue also vnto the cite a possessiō of v M meteroddes brode, & xxv M longe, besyde the parte of ye Sanctuary: that shal be for the whole hou∣se of Israel. Sanctuarys parte, & by the cite, there shal∣be geuen vnto the prynce, what so euer lyeth ouer agaynst the cite, as farre as reacheth westwarde and eastwarde: which shalbe as longe as one parte, frō ye west vnto ye east.

This shalbe his owne lōde in Israel, that my princes be nomore chargeable vnto my people. And soch as remayneth yet ouer in the londe, shalbe geuen to the house of Isra∣el [ B] acordinge to their trybes. Thus saieth the LORDE God: O ye princes, ye haue now op¦pressed and destroyed ynough: now leaue of, handle now acordinge to the thinge, that is equall and laufull: and thrust out my people nomore, sayeth ye LORDE God. Ye shal haue a true weight, a true Epha, & a true Bat.

The Epha & the Bat shalbe a like. One Bat shal cōteyne ye tēth parte of an Homer, and so shal one Epha do: their measure shal be after ye Homer. One Sycle maketh xx. Ge¦ras. So xx. Sycles, and xxv. & xv. Sycles make a pounde. This is the Heaue offrynge, that ye shal geue to be heaued: namely, the xvj. parte of an Epha, out of an Homer of wheat: and the xvj. parte of an Epha, out of an Homer of barlie. The oyle shal be mea¦sured with the Bat: euen the x. parte of one Bat out of a Cor.

Ten Battes make one Homer: for one Ho¦mer maketh ten Battes. And one lābe from two hundreth shepe out of the pasture of Israel, for a meat offrynge, burnt offrynge and health offrynge, to recōcile them, sayeth the LORDE God. All the people of the lon¦de shal geue this heaue offrynge with a fre¦wil. Agayne, it shal be the prynces parte to offre burnt offrynges, meat offrynges and drynk offrynges vnto the LORDE, in the ho¦ly dayes, new Moones, Sabbathes, and in all the hye feastes of the house of Israel. The syn offrynge, meat offerynge, brent offe∣rynge & health offringe shal he geue, to recō¦cile [ C] the house of Israel. Thus sayeth ye LOR¦DE God: The first daye of the first moneth thou shalt take a yōge bullocke without ble¦mysh, and clense the Sanctuary.

So the prest shal take of the bloude of ye syn offrynge, and sprenkle it vpon the postes of the house, and vpon the foure corners of the aulter, with the dore postes of the ynner¦mer courte. And thus shalt thou do also the seuenth daye of ye moneth (for soch as haue synned of ignoraunce, or beynge disceaued) to reconcile the house withall. Vpon ye xiiij. daye of the first moneth ye shal kepe Easter. Seuē dayes shal the feast contynue, wherin there shal no sower ner leuēded bred be eatē.

Vpon the same daye shal ye prynce geue for himself and all the people of the londe, a bullocke for a syn offringe. And in the feast of the seuen dayes he shal offre euery daye a bullocke & a ram, that are with out blemysh, for a burnt offrynge vnto the LORDE: & an he gaote daylie for a syn offrynge. For the meat offrynges he shall geue euer an Epha to a bullocke, an Epha to a ram, & an Hin of oyle to an Epha. Vpon ye xv. daye of the se¦uenth moneth, he shal kepe the seuen dayes holy one after another, euē as the other vij. dayes: with the syn offrynge, burnt offringe, meat offrynge, and with the oyle.
