Qui aspicit terram, & tremit: tangit montes, & fumant.
—Ille Deus, quo territa tellus Concutiente tremit, montes tangente vaporant, Fumifer a trepidum nebula testante pavorem.
—Cui visa repentè Terra tremit, rupes tacta radice vacillans Exudat refugos dorso fumante vapores.
Rursus bellè incipit, & bellè loquitur. Con∣feramus cum contextu.
Qui aspicit terram & tremit▪
—Cui visa repentè Terra tremit.—
At quae sequuntur verba planè tremūt. Cur ais? tacta radice. Nihil tale habet Propheta: sed dicit, Tangit montes, & fumant.
Lector amice, peto hîc vehementer attenti∣onem. Hoc versu Propheta alludit ad mo••••tem Sinai, quem describit Moyses, Exod. 19. his verbis; In cujus verticem descendit Dominus & vocavit Moysem in cacumen ejus, totus autē mons Sinai fumabat, eò quod descendisset Dominus super eum in igne, & ascenderet fumus ex eo, quasi de fornace. Ergo descendit in verticem non ad radicem.
Annectit,
Exudat refugos dorso fumante vapores.
Qui sunt refugi hi vapores? Certum est fu∣mos ascendere, scribitq́ue Moyses, Et ascende∣ratfumus ex eo: Quomodo ergo refugiunt?
