¶Yf a woman apperceyue a wulfe folowynge her / she ou¦ghte to trayle her gyrdell after her in saynge / kepe the wul¦fe that the moder of god smyte the not / and anone all con¦fused he shal retorne agayne. Glose. Ione the sauage saith that yf ony se a wulfe before that the wulfe se hym / he ha∣the no power to do hym ony hurte / and in lyke wyse ye per∣sone of the wulfe.
