Libra (The Scales) is also one of the twelve signs of the zodiac, directly opposite the ram [Aries]. It is called the scales because the nights and days are of equal length when the sun enters into this sign, which happens at the autumn equinox.

The British catalog puts the number of stars in the constellation of Libra at 46.
