Doublette. This stop is of tin and speaks an octave above the Prestant; see the article Organ, where its construction is explained, and the table showing the compasses of organ stops [Plate XI]. [Plate IX] fig. 40 shows the largest pipe of the doublette , sounding C , with a length of two feet. This stop has four octaves.
