Corruption of the blood is what the English call the stigma that has been attached to the offspring of a lèse majesté criminal. It bars the offspring from public responsibilities and functions, and demotes their noble rank if they are aristocrats. See Degradation.
If the king grants letters of pardon, these will prevent the children born after the pardon from being part of this corruption of the blood; however they will not rehabilitate the children that were born before the pardon.
