Intimidate, to arouse fear in someone else’s mind. We intimidate others by conjuring up the image of a real or simulated danger, by serious or feigned threats. Weak natures can be easily intimidated . People with vivid imaginations can be frightened almost as easily. They can see whatever others wish to show them and sometimes even more. But if they are gifted with a sound judgment, then the impression will fade away, their minds will be reassured and they will become even more steadfast. What more violent fears could you stir up than the ones they have suffered already? What ghosts can you show them that are more terrifying than what they have themselves imagined?
