PREFACE
The following papers were presented in approximately this
form to the American Historical Association on the 29th of December, 1964, in the Shoreham Hotel in Washington. While the substance of all of them is tentative, they represent a present estimate
of work in progress, and they touch sufficiently on aspects of papyrology to justify their inclusion in the Bulletin.
In the field of literary papyrology, we welcome the paper by
Dr. Morel, and would remind our readers that, subject to the
limitations of our space, the Bulletin is open to contributions by
papyrologists on both sides of the Atlantic. We supply without
charge fifty reprints of articles and are usually able to publish
promptly.
In addition to the circulation among members, there is a
gratifying list of subscribers, individuals and institutions. More
are always welcome. We are able to supply back files as desired.
The address of the Bulletin is 1977 Yale Station, New Haven, Connecticut.
