Typewritten letter from Alice McClanahan
Mr. Orson Welles Mercury Theatre of the Air Columbia Broadcasting System New York My dear Mr. Welles: I am writing you my opinion of your Martian play. In view of the storm of adverse criticism it has re- ceived, you may be interested to know it was also much enjoyed. I thought both the play itself and the acting were exceedingly well done. They made superb entertainment. Anyone who can describe a gas attack so realistically that people smell the gas, is an art- ist and deserves to succeed. My best wishes for that success. Sincerely, Alice McClanahan Alice McClanahan
