Mental Health Research Institute Advisory Committee:
Professor Angus Campbell, for a three-year term, July 1, 1970, to June 30,
1973, vice Professor Albert J. Reiss, Jr., term expired
Library Council, for four-year terms, July 1, 1970, to June 30, 1974:
Professor Jacob M. Price, vice Professor Gerhard L. Weinberg, term expired
Professor Richard C. Wilson, vice Professor William Kerr, term expired
of Intecollegiate Approval was given for the appointment of Professors Ralph
Athletics M. Gibson, Joseph N. Payne, and Ben Yablonky to the Board in
Control of Intercollegiate Athletics for a three-year term.
Regent Goebel noted that Professors Gibson and Yablonky
were reappointments to the Board in Control of Intercollegiate
Athletics, and were made at the request of SACUA, which request
represented a reversal of SACUA's policy of last year whereby
SACUA specifically recommended that no faculty member be
reappointed to a second term on the Board in Control of Intercollegiate Athletics in order to allow a greater number of faculty
members to have the experience of sitting on the Board.

Stanley A. Cain, Ph.D., Charles Lathrop Pack Professor of Conservation and
Professor of Botany, appointed Director of the Institute for Environmental Quality (p. 388) from July 1, 1970, to December 31, 1971
Minor J. Coon, Ph.D., Professor of Biological Chemistry, appointed Acting
Chairman of the Department of Biological Chemistry from July 1, 1970,
until a successor to Professor Halvor N. Christensen has been appointed.
Professor Christensen has asked that he be relieved of the responsibilities
of the chairmanship on June 30, 1970
Henry P. Coppolillo, M.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, appointed
Acting Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry from July 1, 1970,
until a successor to Dr. Raymond W. Waggoner has been appointed.
Dr. Waggoner has asked to be relieved of the responsibilities of the
chairmanship on June 30, 1970
Samuel J. Eldersveld, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science and Chairman of
the Department of Political Science, appointed James Orin Murfin Professor of Political Science for three years beginning July 1, 1970 (R.P.,

John F. Grede, Ph.D., from Visiting Professor of Education (p. 84) to Professor of Higher Education, beginning September 1, 1970
Alvin D. Loving, Ed.D., Professor of Education, appointed Assistant Dean of
