MAY MEETING, _1916 435 The Regents of the University of Michigan hereby accept the donation provided for in the foregoing instrument. THI REGEGN'rS OF T'HFl UNIVERSITY OF -MICHIGAN by.......................... President hy.......................... Secretary On motion of Regent Sawyer, this gift was accepted with the thanks of the Regents, and the President and Secretary were authorized to sign the agreement of acceptance. The President presented a letter from iMIr. J. A. Wetmore, of the Class of '8i, of New York City, presenting to the art collection of the University a painting entitled "In the Mountain Fastness," by the American artist, Daniel Huntington. On motion of Regent Gore, this gift was accepted, and the thanks of the Regents were voted to Mr. Wetmore. The President presented a letter from Librarian Bishop stating that the Library had received 91 volumes from the library of the late President James B. Angell, these being works on international law not found in the Library's present collection. In addition to the above books coming to the University in accordance with the terms of Dr. Angell's will, Dr. Angell's heirs had presented to the Library a large number of other works most of which the Librarian stated would be useful as second copies. On motion of Regent Sawyer, the thanks of the Regents were voted to the members of the Angell family for this gift. On motion of Regent Sawyer, the request of Professor Gomberg for permission to leave the University about the 1th of June in order that he might take up his work in the Summer Session of the University of California was.granted, with the understanding that Professor Gomberg would provide for such of his work as remained incomplete here. On motion of Regent Sawyer, in accordance with the recommendation of Professor Reeves, Mr. L. D. Upson was appointed non-resident lecturer in municipal administration for the year 1916-1917, without salary. The President filed an acknowledgment by the family of the late Dr. James B. Angell of the expression of sympathy which had come to them from the Regents.
