Turner Detroit On motion of Regent Leland, the Regents directed the Secretary to express the thanks of the Board to these contributors. On motion of Regent Leland, in view of the success of the first short term institute for superintendents and principals of schools held at the University in I915, the Board set aside the sum of $500 toward the expenses of such an institute to be held at the University at the time of the meeting of the Michigan Schoolmasters' Club in I9i6. On condition that the University records showed that such a proposed deed could be properly given, on motion of Regent Bulkley the Board authorized the President and Secretary to furnish a quit-claim deed to the following described property, to which the University received a patent in 1824 and which it later disposed of: The East half of the North East Quarter of Section 34, Township One North, Range Nine East, of the Township of Farmington, Oakland County, Michigan. A communication fronm Miss Alice Evans, Physical Director 'for \Vomen, relative to additional requirements for the Barbour Gymnasium was referred to the Budget Commrittee for consideration with the budget of I916-19I7. On motion of Regent Hubbard, the Board authorized an expenditure of not to exceed $150 to provide a book plate for such books as may be purchased under the bequest to the General Library by the late Octavia W. Bates. On motion of Regent Leland, Mr. Paul WV. Ivey was authorized to register in the Graduate School as a Michigan resident for the present year. A communication from Dr. Peterson and Mr. Greve requesting an appropriation to provide an office for the Matron at the University Hospital, was, on motion of Regent Beal, referred to the Budget Committee. On motion of Regent Beal, the Board appointed Dean Effinger and Professor Newcombe as a committee to determine the spot in the new Science Building where the bronze
