- The Citizen's Bank building at 100 W. Michigan Avenue was built in 1865 by William Davenport as a store. The safe in the store was so used by the community that a bank was formed in 1885. Carl Curtiss on the left took over the bank in 1930 upon the death of Beverley Davenport, son of the founder. Lloyd Fairbanks on the right was an official of the bank.
