About the construction

Description: This two- story gable front Greek Revival house sits on a cement foundation. A wide frieze with return cornice and front door with transom and side lights help define this rather stately, yet simple structure. A full width front porch with turned supports and plain railing appears to have been added at a later date.
Date Of Construction: ca.1865
Context: Original owner unknown. This house was moved to this site sometime before 1912 since it appears on the Sanborn map at that time. According to "Saline Has a Past in its Future", the house was originally located at McKay and N. Ann Arbor St. The 1872 Bird's Eye map shows a front gable house at McKay and N. Ann Arbor St. A 1937 aerial view of Saline shows this house at 209 N Harris.
