Description: 72 ft. by 34ft. metal quonset hut on cement block foundation. Sliding doors in south facade.
Date Of Construction: 1938
Context: Quonset huts were widely used for housing , storage, and commercial purposes around the time of World War I. This commercial building, once known as Gross Farm Equipment, was owned by Alwin Gross. The Gross family also owned Herman Gross & Son Hardware on E. Michigan Avenue. Herman Gross was vice-president of Saline Mercantile, contiguous to this property.
