About the construction

Description: Two story, side gabled, Folk House. Portico roof over entry with wood supports. Fishscale shingles in porch gable. Small square window over porch. Remaining windows are two over two. Two story addition to rear. Wood deck at rear. Two car garage at rear.
Date Of Construction: pre-1870
Context: This house seems to be on the 1872 Bird's Eye View of Saline. The original house was a one and a half story, Greek Revival style house (a photograph taken in 1963 shows the house to be Greek Revival. The door was offset, and there were kneehole windows on the front facade). The house was remodeled in the 1960's, but kept its original configuration. Remodeled again in 1992 to its current form. Garage added in the 1940's. John Goff (Gough) probably built the house, and lived in it until about 1884. Peter Gramer owned it from about 1890 -1900. The house was in the Schaible family 1906 -1947. Carl Mueller was the next owner, and Denis Michalak purchased the house 1992. More research is needed on the early ownership questions.
