About the construction

Description: Two and a half story, vernacular, Queen Anne style house. Gable front with crossed side gables. Full width porch with shed roof. Round support columns set on concrete piers, and a low concrete balustrade. Stone foundation. One story addition with a shed roof to south and east facades. Windows are two lights over one. Aluminum siding. Detached, two car garage to south. (259 at rear).
Date Of Construction: pre-1920
Context: Owners: William Westphal 1920-1941; Harold Brown 1945- 1994. The 1915 atlas has J.H. Barr's name on the property where this house would be located. The earliest owner that can be documented is about 1920, but the architectural style indicates an older construction date than 1920. More research is needed to clarify these questions.
