About the construction

Description: One story, hipped roof, Folk Victorian. Partial width porch with square support columns resting on solid wood balustrade. Gable front addition to east facade, with a modern picture window. Remaining windows are one light over one. Louvered shutters at all windows. Small entry porch on west facade to second apartment. Stone foundation. Two car, gable front, garage located at rear.
Date Of Construction: 1872 ca.
Context: This house seems to be visible on the 1872 Bird's Eye View of Saline. William and Elizabeth Dell lived here 1916-1935. William's brother, George also lived on W. Henry. Other owners were: Thomas Beckington 1941; Ray Armbruster 1947; Alex Vansossan 1965; Thomas Karpensky; Irene Cotner 1967. The addition to the east was added in 1956. The 1926 city directory lists William as janitor at Saline Union High School.
