- Description
- Two story, cross gabled, Folk Victorian house. Wrap around porch with wrought iron supports, balustrade, and railings. Two story cutaway bay on south facade. Small bow window on front facade. Windows are one light over one. Addition to rear. Aluminum siding. Two story livery barn at rear.

- Context
- Delos Townsend lived on a farm south of Saline for 57 years. He graduated from Cleary business college, and taught school in Ypsilanti for a few years. He also worked at the nursery firm of Spellman Brothers in Adrian. The city directory list Mr. Townsend on Adrian in 1899, but his obituary stated that he moved to the city about 1907. His wife died in 1918, and he sold the home to C.A. Jordan, who was the postmaster. Ruth Bond was the owner from about 1931 to 1941. Alwin Gross owned the house from about 1945 - 1965. The current owner purchased in 1989 according to the assessor's files.
