- This home is on the 1888 Sanborn map. It seems to be pictured on the 1872 Bird's Eye View of Saline. It combines Queen Anne and Colonial Revival detailing on the porch. Emanuel Layher and his wife, Julia, lived in the house with their five children from approximately 1912 - 1926. Emanuel was a section foreman for the railroad, and several of his sons were section heads in 1916. This house is listed on the National Register as part of the North Ann Arbor Street Historic District.
