Work Title
Mimeographed reproduction of text and illustrations on individual leaves of grained off-white and sand-colored papers with mimeographed borders. Stapled at left margin and tied with twine. Title pages and wrappers have cutouts. Collage on front wrapper has sand, twine with glued pieces, and a circular cutout exposing a paper ship glued to a map. Part of a collection of handmade books, most with cords for hanging (literatura de cordel), published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture. "Consta de ciento cincuenta ejemplares numerados, firmados por su autor, iluminados a mano ... Fureon usados ... papeles reciclados en la Puentes Grandes, junto la habanero río Almendares, así como papeles arenados elaborados en la ciudad de Cárdenas. Las finísimas arenas de la cubierta fueron escogidas por el diseñador en las playas de Varadero. Las lanzadas y retazos de yute se elaboraron con fibras de henequén cosechados en Matanzas. Se usaron también recortería de lienzo crudo, así como elementos de relojería cortesía del maestro relojero Epifanio Claro Lamar."--Colophon.
