Work Title
El guerrero
Poem in six stanzas. Typescript and decorative border photocopied on one side of a large sheet of white paper with a "sword" of decorated and colored paper collage mounted vertically at the center and extending above and below the sheet of text. Title and author are reproduced on the colored guard piece, and the top of the handle is tied with a rawhide cord. The sheet of text folds behind the sword, and the blade fits inside a brown paper sheath with mimeographed and mounted paper decorations. The text of the poem is in gothic typeface, and manuscript text decorates the sword handle. The word "íntimo" appears on a cancel in the 10th line from the end of the poem. Colophon appears on sheath. Part of a collection of handmade chapbooks, most with cords for hanging (literatura de cordel), published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture. "Consta de cien ejemplares totalmente manufacturados por las Ediciones Vigía en su Colección del San Juan."--Colophon.
