It would seem as if we abolitionists were to go down - But we hope not The only effect we think, will be, to let the gov ernment know, that its life depends on the Proclamation of freedom, and that it must be executed. That time - [?] & cowards must go out of the cabinet of the President. That our armies must be directed by anti slavery generals. They must take up the favorite song of poor old John Brown "Blow ye the trumpet blow", - or we we have no country. God freed the glorious day, which ushers in the "year of Jubilee" Kansas has again voted for freedom, as you probably know, and the Emancipation Ticket in Missouri has triumphed, a very good & timely rebuke to the frightened republicans in N. York who voted for Seymour. I sent you receipt for the money; Mr O. requests me to thank you & the ladies of yr Society for your Kindness & especially yourself for your kind letter & the cheering words it contains With sentiments of respect I am yours truly G.
