that the liberal support of the Frederick Douglass paper occupying the peculiar position it does in relation to the coloured people to be of immense importance I do not think there is in America another antislavery paper that has such stronger claims for antislavery support so as to enable it to maintain a spirited stand on the abolition principles and (not give) ground it has taken. I believe most assuredly in the correctness of the Radical abolition principles recognized in that paper and I can understand at what a sacrifice to his private interest Frederick Douglass made when he adopted and has since followed out those principles - Yet I by no
