Determination by the homage that John Preeste, on his deathbed, surrendered into the lord's hands, through the hands of William Andrewe and Patrick Thomas, tenants of this manor, one customary tenement with one piece of an adjacent vacant fee with appurtenances, to the use [3] of Margaret Preeste, his wife, for the term of her life, and thence to Dorothy Oldam, wife of William Oldam, and her heirs, to whom the lord, through his Steward, granted seisin, to be held from the lord, by the rod, at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, for 6 s. 8 d. annual rent, suit to court and all other customs and services owed therein. Determination by the homage that Robert Bette, who held for himself and his heirs according to the custom of the manor one customary tenement with appurtenances, died seised thereof after the last court, and that Samuel Bette is his son and heir and 11 years of age, who, present, sought admittance, to whom the lord, through his Steward, granted seisin, to be held from the lord, by the rod, at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, for 10 s. 8 d. and four ducks annual rent, suit to court and all other customs and services owed therein. Determination by the homage that John Bowmer, before the last court, surrendered into the lord's hands, through the hands of John Johnson, tenant of this manor, one tenement called Hungery, [4] to the use [5] of Margaret Smyth, his daughter, wife of Thomas Smyth, for the term of her life, and afterwards to the use and intention of a certain written document bearing the date 12 February, 27 Elizabeth, [6] under the said John Bowmer's seal and which is in the custody of John Bowmer, his brother. Seisin granted to Margaret by the lord, through his Steward, to be held by her for life, by the rod, at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, for 4 s. annual rent.
