Determination by the homage that Richard Skott, on his deathbed, outside the court and after the last court, surrendered into the lord's hands, through the hands of John Godley and William Whytwell, customary tenants, one tenement with appurtenances recently held by the said Richard, and another tenement with appurtenances recently held by John Knightley, and one close called the Fen Close [2] with two leasows lying in the field of Ramsey, to the use [3] of Joan Skott, his wife, for the term of her life, and after her death to the use of Richard's heirs, to whom the lord, through his Steward, granted seisin, to be held by the said Joan Skott for life, and after her death to revert to Richard's heirs perpetually, to be held from the lord, by the rod, at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, for 26 s. 8 d. annual rent, suit to court and all other customs and services owed therein. Determination by the homage that Richard Scott, who was seised in his demesne as of fee, according to the custom of the manor, of one customary tenement with a piece of an adjacent fee with appurtenances recently held by Joan Messe, widow, died seised, and that Thomas Skott is his son and nearest heir who, present in court, sought admittance into the above properties, to whom the lord, through his Steward, granted seisin, to be held from the lord, by the rod, at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, for 5 s. and one duck annual rent, suit to court and all other customs and services owed therein.
