Conveyance by the lord, in the time of Brother Thomas Therfeld, cellarer, to John Bateman of one fishpond called Long Beach [67] with appurtenances and one cotagium with one weir called A Were pertaining to the said fishpond and recently held by John Alyne. Seisin granted, to be held by John, his heirs and assigns at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, rendering annually to the lord, through the hands of the Cellarer, 20 s., in equal portions at the feast of the Annunciation [68] and Nativity of Blessed Mary, [69] with the obligation to repair and maintain the said weir and cotagiumwith appurtenances at his own expense, except for wood and underwood, to be provided by the Cellarer whenever required and called Howsbote and Werebote. Further, the Cellarer shall, on account of this grant, have the right to take all the fish, both long and short, from the said pond before anyone else.
