places, baths and a pine tree at your
door. The cottage colony is a consist~
ent money-maker.
There's a feeling now up in northern
Michigan that even if the grey-coated
mine stiples do turn rusty with' idle~
ness, the ship won't be lost. But what
of the promoters-the mine execu~
tives and business and professional
men who put their time and efforts
into the project-what do they get out
of it?
Ocha Potter puts it thusly:
"All we want is the satisfaction of
seeing the results. We get kicks and
complaints and all that-but the
pleasure of seeing the thing through,
and the knowledge that we're not
through up here yet-that makes up
for a lot of it.... "
