- Subject photographed while part of Cheyenne and Arapaho delegation to Washington, D.C., in 1871.
- Original photograph likely produced by Jeremiah Gurney & Co. in Washington, D.C., in 1871. Image reprinted by William H. Jackson for comprehensive photographic record of Native Americans titled "Photographs of North American Indians" compiled by U.S. Department of the Interior Geographical Survey of the Territories under F. V. Hayden first published in 1877. This image is #118 in Jackson's "Descriptive Catalogue of Photographs of North American Indians".
