- Photographs primarily of Oglala Lakota Indian men, women and children (both individual and group portraits) at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota, wearing western and traditional clothing as well as Oglala Lakota encampments, structures and gatherings. Portraits of identified individuals include Bull's Eye, Old Foam, Thomas Henry and daughter (possibly Fannie Henry), Lucy Bull Bear, John Bull Bear, Thunder Bull, William "Crazy Bull" Girton (Carlisle Indian Industrial School graduate and reservation police officer), Annie White Bear, Mrs. Bull Bear, Joseph "Joe" Horn Cloud (survivor of Wounded Knee Massacre), Rosa "Lone Wolf" Mouseau (Carlisle Indian Industrial School graduate), Mrs. Broken Leg, Little Scout, Fast Eagle, Frank Feather, Beard (possibly Dewey Beard, half-brother of Joe Horn Cloud and survivor of Wounded Knee Massacre), Miss Little Chip, Mrs. High Bear, Mrs. Paddy Star and Spotted Eagle. Other images of note include several photographs related to Fourth of July celebrations, Oglala Lakota women preparing dog meat for soup, a giveaway ceremony, beef entrails being cleaned, a recently married Oglala Lakota couple and the church where wedding ceremony took place. Majority of photographs supplied with contemporary inscribed image captions.
