Notes
Portfolio consists of 15 photographs including studio portraits of famous Lakota Indian chiefs and warriors including Rain in the Face, Gall, Low Dog, Sitting Bull, Crow King, Red Horse, Long Dog, Running Antelope, John Grass, American Horse, Red Cloud and Young Man Afraid Of His Horses dressed in varying mixtures of western and traditonal clothing. Final photograph is image of "Burial Tree" representative of tree burials many fallen Cheyenne and Sioux warriors were laid to rest in following retreat from Little Bighorn.
Red fabric case with "Plains Warriors, Chiefs, Scouts and Frontier Personalities" embossed in gold on front.
"Each image in the edition was contact printed using the original glass plate negative from the David Francis Barry Negative Collection acquired by the Denver Public Library, Western History Department in 1934".
