- Group portrait of five Apache Indian prisoners from the San Carlos Reservation who were convicted of murder or assault with intent to murder fellow tribesmen on the reservation. Subjects wear riveted shackles and mixtures of western and traditional clothing.
- Identified subjects: Miguel (leftmost), Gon Chee (seated at center), Sayes (second from right), Bask-Ka-Lah (rightmost).
- Stamped on verso: Willis P. Haynes, Artist in Landscape Photography, 8 Stone Ave. Tucson, Ariz.
