Phares wears traditional clothing including bone hairpipe breastplate while unidentified Gros Ventre Indian girl wears bead and bone hairpipe necklace and wool dress trimmed with elk teeth and/or cowrie shells. Subjects gathered for Fourth of July celebration on Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, Montana.
