Studio group portrait of Luther Standing Bear (at center), Edward Little Chief (far left), and three unidentified Native American individuals (two women and one man; likely Lakota). All five subjects wear predominately traditional clothing. Luther Standing Bear wears eagle feather bonnet affixed with ermine skins, otter fur hair wraps, bone hairpipe breastplate, bead embroidered armbands, wool blanket with beaded strip, bead embroidered leggings, and moccasins; Edward Little Chief wears embroidered vest trimmed with cowrie shells, beaded choker necklace, wool leggings with bead embroidered strips and trimmed with cowrie shells, and moccasins; woman second from left (likely the wife of Edward Little Chief) wears cloth dress decorated with elk teeth, bead embroidered leggings and moccasins, and blanket decorated with silk ribbon applique; woman second from right wears woven beadwork headband, bead necklace, fringed leather dress, and bead embroidered belt, leggings, and moccasins; man at right wears eagle feather bonnet, several necklaces, fringed hide leggings, bead embroidered armbands, cuffs, and moccasins while carrying feather, blanket, and tobacco bag tied to waistband.
