- Outdoor group portrait of eight Seminole Indian men (including several Black Seminole men) gathered around camp fire. Fire heavily retouched on negative. Subjects wear a mixture of western and traditional clothing including turbans. Four indiviuals are holding umbrellas. Subjects from left to right: Billie Stewart, Billie Fewell (also known as Billy Bowlegs III), Billie Fenel, Tom Dixon (standing), Tommie Jumper, Tommie Fenel (standing), Tom Billie, Billie Martin.
- Contemporary inscription on verso: Billie Stewart; Billie Bowlegs; Billie Fenel; Tom Dixon; Tommie Jumper; Tommie Fenel; Tom Billie; Billie Martin.

- Billie Fewell was born to an African-American father and Seminole mother in 1862. Fewell was named after prominent Seminole chief Holata Micco (also known as Billy Bowlegs) at the age of 15. They were not related by blood.
