Notes
Group portrait of Brulé Lakota Indian chiefs and warriors assembled at Rosebud Indian Reservation, South Dakota. The majority of subjects wear varying mixtures of western and traditional clothing. A number of individuals can be seen wearing eagle feather bonnets, feather headdresses, hair feathers, wool leggings, dance bells, moccasins, and presidential peace medals. Several individuals hold objects including rifles, eagle wing fans, pipes, and tobacco bags. One individual standing at center appears to be wearing cinder goggles. Ceremonial dance arbor visible in background.
