- Back row standing left to right: Black Lightning, unknown, His Iron Horse, Rev. Samuel D. Hinman, Walks Following the Eagle (also known as Wan-m'di-ta-pa'-a-ma'-ni), Standing Cloud (also know as Ma-hpi-ya-na-zin).
- Front row seated left to right: Medicine (also known as Sacred), Scarlet Knight, Scarlet All Over (also known as Owancha Duta), Coming Among the Clouds (also known as Ma-hp'i-ya-i-hua-n), Bluebird, Standing Soldier (also known as Akicitananjin).
- Title derived from contemporary inscribed image caption on verso.
