- Full length seated portrait of Southern Cheyenne chief Howling Wolf (also known as Ho-na-nist-to) while imprisoned at Fort Marion wearing traditional clothing including eagle feather bonnet, bone hairpipe breastplate, hide leggings and moccasins while holding shield affixed with feathers, otter fur bow case and quiver with attached strike-a-light case. Original negative likely produced around 1875 by O. Piere Havens.
