THE U. S. S. "YOSEMITE" the United States, and impressed upon the Management the fact that the United States uniform must be given every privilege that is extended by public places to civilians. Naturally every officer and member of the crew admired and respected their commanding officer for this simple, but very thoughtful act, and I for one have never forgotten it, although I was not present at the time...." Rear Admiral William H. Emory died on July 14, 1917, in the seventy-first year of his age.
