The N Vietnam news agency broadcasts a letter from 4 President Ho Chi Minh to the Pcpe charging the US with scheming to spread the war to Cambodia and Laos and repeating his previous conditions for a peace settlement. US Ambassador to the UN Arthur J. Goldberg meets with the Pope in Rome to thank hiin for his continuing peace efforts. Premier Aldo Moro of Italy accepts the resignation of Foreign Minister Amintorre Fanfani, also Presidlet ef the UN Assembly, who insisted on his resignation following criticism of his involvement in the Hanoi "peace-feeler" affair repudcated by N Vietnam. Announced in Moscow that Shelepin will leave shortly for Hanoi on N Vietnat invitation. Dec. 30 - Macapagal and Marcos meet in Malacafiang and after a brief prayer together in the Malacafiang chapcl, at the suggestion of the former, they ride together in an open car to the Quiiino grandstand on the Luneta whence, after ilitary honors, Macapagal returns to Malacafiang, leaving later with tis family for the home cf a friend; following a military and veterans parade, Rufino Cardinal Santos delivers the invocation and Chief Justice Cesar Bengzon administers the oath of office, first to Vice-President Lopez and then to President Marcos; Marcos delivers an impassioned 35-minute address, without notes. wiich is frequently applauded. After a luncheon at Malacaiang wi th members of the Cabinet and a few close friends, the Cabinet meets for 2 hours and Marcos issues Executive Order No. 1 creating an antismuggling committee headed by Yulo and Administrative Order No. 1 prohibiting public officials and employees from dealing directly or - AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERICE OF THE PHILIPPINES ESTABLISHED 1920 PURPOSES. The promotion and development of American trade, commerce, and industry in the Philippines and the Far East; The provision of means for the convenient exchange of ideas in this promotion and development; The cultivation of friendly relations between Americans and Filipinos and other peoples of the Far East; The enrolment of American citizens residing in the Philippines with a view to bringing about closer association in the achievement of the purposes set forth, There are several classes of membership: (1) Resident Active Member Firms, (2) Resident Individual Active Members, (3) Resident Associate Members.
