If great men of qther nations seem. greater than the illustrious Filipinos, to some of us, it is, not wholly our fault. It is because we have have always been made to believe that we are an inferior people. <?, * * * Like other peoples, we are hero-worshiphers. But it seems that we whorship more the heroes. of other nations, ' Let us not 'nake comparisons now to show that Fiiipino great men, living and dead, tie as' great, as the great of oth'(r, lnations.. lhlre is niot a single standard of greatness. ' I the Motncr cannot ilurinisn miljj for her child, ask a doctor, nurse, or other responsible person for advice'as to artificial feeding; milk, diluted about si.x timns for thesmnall baby, increasing in st.reiigth and qurintity as the months go by, is the best food;'the Baby must. hlnm milk almost entirely until it is In-iny months old, andi no solid food",until the teeth come. Most Mothers can nurse their Babies if t'l)y tre presistent in trying. '2. The Baby needs a Bath every day. When the weather.is- cold, or the Baby is little, weak, or sick, use warm water; on warm days, or when the Baby is, hot and fretful, give a cool Sponge bath. The use of the Bath is to make the skin clean and beautiful, and to refresh the Baby, of course, but the main 4use is to cleanse away impurities that might infe It or otherwise make the Baly sick; ue soap and water,- and rinse well. 5. The Baby needs quiet and' sleep, The most perfect rest.and relaxation, are found inthe quietness of sleep; this is necessary to provide for growth and strength for thle active Baby uses iup much strength and energy each day; this much be replaced. It is a" bad custom to shake or carry a Baby to make him go to sleep; put him in his ' bed all comfortable and( quiet, and persuade him to sleep; this gives him long hours of quiet rest. These simple things to do for a Baby are not. diffibdlt,-.and yet they are of vital importance to the health and development of' the Child;. Mothers, you can DO all of these things. I am an ardent advocate.of the Anon~as bill which `seeks the ere'ction of an adequate Filipino Pantheon where thle rewains of dead Filipino hei'oes. could I e lidW permanently. The greatness,of a Iation is founded riot, on its material prosperity' alone. It rests' chieflv uponlit' Rgcapacity to perpetuate itself. 'And that 'capacity i s riooted in' thec O~ill ' to surVive'.
