A survey of the educational system of the Philippine islands by the Board of educational survey, created under acts 3162 and 3196 of the Philippine Legislature.

434 EDUCATIONAL SURVEY OF THE PHILIPPINES working at cross purposes for the normal school to train students in a way which fails to prepare them to do the work which will be required of them as teachers. Instruction in methods and in such theory classes as may be included in the curriculum, should give the students a margin of understanding and intelligence about their work. This will equip them to carry out the course of study effectively and to adapt themselves to changes introduced in prescribed school procedure by revisions of the course of study.
