- The organ installed in the Great Hall in 1913 was built by the Rieger company of Switzerland. It was a unique instrument both in terms of its size and its design. It was the first 5 manual organ in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and today it is the largest organ in Austria, with 116 stops, 5 manuals and pedal. It is an important representative of organ sound as it developed in the era of change from the Romantic era in organ building.
- The musical and stylistic concept is substantially oriented toward the so-called Alsace organ reform and the ideas of Emile Rupp. For him the ideal organ involved the fusion of the Bach-Silvermann organ with the development of the reed pipe register from the Classical French organ, further enriched with stops providing an orchestral character. Additionally, the organ design sought to achieve maximum versatility in the instrument.
- In 1982, the organ was completely overhauled by Rieger.
